“Drua references traditional knitting archetypes to create innovative 3D constructions and textures for her graduate project. By abstracting cable-knit structures and combining them with jacquard, she creates sculptural textiles intended for the luxury interiors market. Colour is informed by changeant qualities, which are exposed through under-layers for a less traditional approach”

Junior researcher at the "Crafting Wearables: Fashionable Technology" research project. As a junior researcher, I work on the development of smart and responsive textiles by means of explorations in knitwear. The research is embedded in the larger research project ‘Crafting Wearables: Fashionable Technology’, financed by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). The research is conducted in close cooperation with designer Pauline van Dongen, the ArtEZ School for the Arts in Arnhem, and the Audax Textile Museum in Tilburg.
